What is earthing Electrode?

Natural

In this case, a natural type of earthing conductor is used, for example, reinforcement included in the foundations of buildings. In addition, a variety of metal underground utilities, such as pipelines, armor or cable sheaths, can be used as natural earth electrodes. In some cases, it is allowed to use ground communications for grounding, for example, rail tracks.

Artificial

Grounding in most cases, this is an electrode made of steel and placed in the ground in a horizontal or vertical plane. In some cases, a whole group of identical conductors is used, which are interconnected. In this case, the earth electrode is complicated. If the electrodes are closed, it is a ground loop. Artificial grounding of equipment should be used when it is necessary to significantly reduce the currents passing through the natural grounding conductors to the ground.
